Kinja'd!!!

My wife has informed me of a very nice, custom built dining room table set that fit our budget if we are doing well enough to think about motorcycles. Bubble burst.

Some of you may understand how it is to owe reparations for stupid shit you do, so it loojs like we will be eating at a really nice table.

My 2 wheel fun will be limited to the Vespa for now. It needs an Oppo sticker....

Apart from fun, is there any benefit to getting a scooter if you already have a car? I need one to justify getting one. I think it’d make city driving much less tedious.

I started a new job 6 months ago, and my commute went from 19 miles each way to 2.3 miles, all on relatively empty surface streets. I really need to get a scooter for this commute ‘cause my gas mileage in the Mazda really sucks right now; good thing gas is so cheap at the moment...

If you have a short, in town commute, then do it. I have about a 1 miles “commute”. My moped saved time, gas and made the trip a lot more fun!

If your mileage sucks but you’re only driving 2 miles... who cares? If you got 10 miles a gallon, a gallon would last you 2.5 days!

I dunno, I hear dining room sets can be really dangerous, especially the custom ones.

Aaaaand this is why I’m single. I wouldn’t be able to deal with somebody else telling me how I can spend my money.

Think of all the time you can save by not having to open and close a door, buckle a seat belt, adjust the radio, shift out of park and into drive, from drive back to park, parking brake (if you use it), unbuckle the seatbelt, open and shut the door. Now add back in the time to rock the scooter off the stand and set the scooter back on the stand. That’s the time you save with a scooter if you don’t wear a helmet and other gear - which most people on scooters I have seen do not bother with it; though they really should.

Now if you aren’t very law abiding (or live somewhere that says that filtering and lane splitting are ok) subtract all the time spent sitting in traffic from your commute and put yourself first at every stoplight .

pitch it as a way to spend more time together bonding just the two of you. She can have the Vespa, and you can ride the motorcycle/ or she can ride behind you. A motorcycle is a great way to gaurantee time that is just the two of you.

The table while it allows bonding actually creates a barrier between the two of you instead of eliminating barriers like the motorcycle does and in fact forces the two of you to be closer. A motorcycle builds intimacy.

(If you have already tried these, then I guess you are SOL; if you haven’t dole them out slowly.)

This. I’m going to now convince my girl that we should sell the table we own and buy more motorcycle.

lol reminds me of a story. A friend of mine had his wife divorce him because he spent his money how he wished. She didn’t work at first and then was like an assisted living worker who made very little. He mad $60k at the time. She ended up marrying a NEET and they live in a trailer park on welfare, he makes $70k+ now.

He said she texts him trying to get back with him lmao.
